SUMMARY

This role is responsible for inventory accuracies within the Stores area at the Lake Charles South facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensures accurate inventory management
    • Manages Vendor Material Stocking Program VMI (16 locations within facility).
    • Monitors, approves and changes requests from the field as needed as well as initiating PO's involving Stores Inventory.
    • Approves Daily Stores Inventory Requisition List to ensure that stores inventory is being ordered correctly before purchasing proceeds with orders.
    • Responsible for ensuring that physical inventory is completed within compliance of established practice and policies.
    • Responsible for managing Vendors including Vendor City on Stores Inventory Issues (SAP orders & Inventory Issues). Assists staff with issues that require authorized approval in SAP. Tracks and approves credit for stores inventory returns.
    • Implements best practices related to inventory management by suggesting changes where necessary and following through execution
  • Works with finance and management to improve inventory management by gaining approval on new inventory items, revisions, and deletions of obsolescence. Reports monthly on inventory additions, deletions, revisions and moves to integrated suppliers.
  • Assist with Yearly Inventory Budget Planning.
  • Responsible for Quarterly SARA 311 Reporting to Environmental. Tracks and monitors Cl2 cylinders inventory in Store Inventory to ensure compliance with Environmental and Production.
  • Manages scrap metal and issues of gate passes for scrap metal sales.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma required.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in inventory management within a production and/or manufacturing environment.
  • SAP experience in inventory preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office, but can be high outside. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Inside exposure includes but not limited to A/C 80% of the time. Outside exposure includes but not limited to outside elements 30% of the time. May be exposed to finished carpet, tile/linoleum and/or outside concrete or gravel. Job may require working in both closed and open quarters. Exposure to dust, fumes, and gasses are at a minimum on the inside, and can be moderate outside.
