Summary
Responsible for combining research in biology, medicine, and health-related studies with information technology in order to collect and interpret data covering a range of fields, such as genetics or pharmaceutics. They create mathematical models, develop dynamic simulations, and perform pattern analyses of biological systems. Essential Functions Assist in the analysis of biological data using bioinformatics tools and software. Perform data processing, quality control, and database maintenance. Collaborate with research teams to understand their data analysis needs. Support the development and implementation of data analysis pipelines. Conduct basic statistical analyses and data visualization. Participate in the interpretation and presentation of results. Working under very general supervision, the Bioinformatics Analyst will have demonstrated independent design and innovation in one or more of the following areas of specialization: algorithm development, data analysis, quality assurance/testing, pipeline software/computing development, user interface design & report development, web-based application development, or report development.
