POSITION SPECIFICS

The Department of Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS), in the College of Health and Human Development, is seeking an Academic Program Coordinator to join our staff. The successful candidate will serve as coordinator of the HDFS Graduate and Masters of Social Work (MSW) programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with faculty, staff, advisers, parents, and students; respond to inquiries related to individual courses, degree requirements, or the overall academic program
  • Prepare and maintain student files; monitor graduation requirements; assess and track degree audits and ensure accuracy of degree requirements
  • Facilitate the process for reviewing requests and updating student course/program changes; process grade change forms, add, drop, and registration forms
  • Collaborate with faculty and department leadership to forecast course/certificate enrollment; retrieve, compile, and analyze course data; assess classroom space and instructor requirements; plan, schedule, and finalize sections, classrooms, and exams; respond to course availability and enrollment inquiries; order textbooks
  • Communicate with students to promote program specific opportunities including workshops, organizations, internships, and career development opportunities;
  • Prepare, review, and submit faculty senate petitions
  • Plan and coordinate events including orientations, prospective student visits, open houses and other program events; arrange volunteer schedules for events
  • Create and maintain databases; compile academic data and prepare reports for department leadership related to enrollment data, student progress and experience, and accreditation information
  • Coordinate student rating surveys
  • Coordinate and plan graduation receptions; assist with logistics including venues, invitations, and itineraries
  • Provide back-up support to the Administrative Office Manager
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the main reception area
  • Order departmental and office supplies; request service for copiers and fax machines; order and organize scantron sheets for exams; maintain departmental mailboxes; distribute incoming mail; handle outgoing mail and UPS.
  • Record Management Liaison for Policy, procedure and information between the University Records Management Program and HDFS

The final candidate will work independently on complex projects, and will have strong communications skills, interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines.

Proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook is required. Experience with student and financial information systems is preferred.

Schedule:

This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $38,300.00 - $55,500.00.
