Position Description The Accounting Manager will supervise 2 employees within our Corporate accounting team. This role is primarily responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities and related analytical support in compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements. In addition, this position will be responsible for financial statement consolidations and eliminations, management reporting, statement of cash flow reporting and various other value-added projects. Key Responsibilities Oversee and mentor an accounting staff and monitor performance Manage certain month-end and year-end closing activities including: Global financial statement consolidation and elimination process Global statement of cash flows preparation and analysis Annual goodwill impairment review process Various P/L and balance sheet analysis and reviews Accumulation and review of various quarterly/annual footnote data Account reconciliations Interface with internal and external auditors on quarterly reviews and year-end audit Responsible for segregation of duties compliance SAP system master data maintenance and control over accounting periods Process owner for certain global finance standard practices Maintain work instructions and personal standard work documentation. Required Education & Qualifications Required Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years work experience is required and previous supervisory experience is preferred. Must have an understanding of GAAP and strong Excel skills SAP/HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) software skills are a plus Must be able to build positive working relationships with all levels of the organization including General Management, Segment and Plant Controllers, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit and various other finance personnel. Must possess strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. Many aspects of this position are tied to reporting deadlines, which require identification and resolution of issues on a timely basis and proactive communication with others around the world. The individual must be a clear and concise communicator, work well under pressure, be flexible to adapt to shifting priorities, and possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Education Requirements: An undergraduate degree in Accounting is required; CPA is preferred but not required. Why Choose Modine?
