Salary Range: $78,287-$97,859

Job Description

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and optimize resources, including raw materials, labor, time, energy, and utilities for efficient product packaging.

2. Develop and implement action plans for continuous improvement, including productivity and performance goals.

3. Oversee operating expenses associated with product manufacture, including supplies and production labor.

4. Train, coach, and develop supervisors and hourly-compensated production employees.

5. Develop and maintain operating procedures, troubleshoot operational problems, and monitor production yields.

6. Review and improve process equipment flow and coordinate with Maintenance for preventative maintenance schedules.

7. Create work schedules, conduct crew meetings, and communicate production plans across all shifts.

8. Ensure compliance with food safety rules, safe work behaviors, and housekeeping standards.

9. Complete incident investigations for accidents or property loss and review all production paperwork.

10. Act as primary fill-in for the Plant Superintendent in case of absence.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Operations, or Engineering preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Plant operations supervisory positions; food industry experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, AS 400, and familiarity with PLC, Warehouse Management Systems, and Plant Automation Systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability in problem-solving, teamwork development, and continuous improvement
  • Experience in a union environment is a plus
Additional Information

Physical: Must be able to walk throughout the plant up to eight-plus (8+) hours at a time, to include walking and climbing up/down stairs and ladders (portable, fixed).

Sensory:Must have the appropriate level of sensory acuity (visual, hearing, speaking, smell and touch) to be able to identify and react to normal, abnormal and alarm conditions (chemicals, temperature, etc.)

Mental/Reasoning:Must be able to logically and methodically work through and break down complex problems and processes to enable effective communication with all levels of the organization.
