Job Overview
A technically driven and quality-focused Cloud Test & Validation Manager to lead the end-to-end testing, benchmarking, and lab validation efforts for a Red Hat-based Kubernetes private cloud platform. This role is ideal for a manager with strong experience in cloud-native environments, system integration testing, and telecom validation, who is ready to build and lead a high-performing cloud test organization.
Job Responsibilities:
Test Strategy & Execution: - Define and lead the end-to-end testing strategy for onboarding telecom applications onto a Kubernetes private cloud, covering functionality, scalability, availability, and compliance.
- Develop and oversee test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria aligned with application SLAs and platform capabilities.
- Drive the execution of performance benchmarking, resilience testing (chaos engineering), and interoperability across the cloud stack.
Lab & Environment Management: - Manage multiple test environments and lab infrastructures, ensuring availability, configuration consistency, and alignment with production-like conditions.
- Coordinate with platform teams to support CI/CD pipelines, network simulation, traffic generation, and automated deployment into the lab.
- Maintain a clean, reproducible test environment with clear version control, test data sets, and rollback capabilities.
Automation & Tooling: - Implement test automation frameworks for Kubernetes-based workloads using open-source or commercial tools.
- Integrate chaos testing, load generation, and network impairment tools to validate the platform's resilience and fault tolerance under stress.
- Utilize observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to monitor, analyze, and optimize test results and system behavior.
Leadership & Team Development: - Lead a team of cloud test engineers and lab specialists, setting priorities, mentoring staff, and fostering a culture of quality and accountability.
- Develop team competencies in cloud-native testing practices and telecom service validation.
- Support team members' career development through regular feedback, growth planning, and exposure to emerging tools and methodologies.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting: - Collaborate with application owners, DevOps, and cloud engineering teams to align testing outcomes with deployment readiness.
- Act as the voice of validation in design reviews, release planning, and cloud onboarding forums.
- Present testing results, readiness metrics, risk assessments, and incident postmortems to executive and technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift, with experience in testing cloud-hosted network functions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex findings to both technical teams and senior leadership.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills; ready to step into a people management role while maintaining hands-on technical involvement.
- Proven ability to manage test labs, environments, and continuous validation pipelines in complex, distributed systems.
- Experience with chaos engineering, resiliency frameworks, or failure injection tools is a plus.
- Strong background in performance testing, system integration, and network function benchmarking.
- Familiarity with telecom technologies and how they behave in a cloud environment.

Base Pay Range: $126,100 - $227,600
Corporate Bonus Target: 15%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
