Job Summary

Oversees spend management activities and functions within Supply Chain and includes Contracting and Value Analysis, Purchasing, and Informatics. Responsibilities include but are not limited to planning and leading the contracting life cycle, strategic and operations activities within the department to include effective integration and implementation of a Supply Chain Spend Management and Informatics strategy. Leads the development and integration of data visualization tools, master data files, and Supply Chain ERP optimization across the enterprise. Responsible for continuous improvement and the development of appropriate policies, procedures, and processes to ensure effective and efficient Supply Chain Spend Management operations. Identifies strategic value creation opportunities and cascades goals throughout the department in order to achieve them.

Responsible for supply chain inventory control for the Prisma Health system, including implementing standardized system-developed supply chain strategic plans and policies, overseeing all inventory control practices and functions (Inventory Management, Warehousing, Pars, JIT, LUM, POU, Implant Management), and directing the Inventory Control team. Administers supply chain inventory control functions and supports the supply chain operations for Prisma Health. Responsible for working with a variety of key business, clinical, and operations stakeholders across the Prisma Health system as well as their peers within Supply Chain. Leads strategic planning efforts within supply chain for the inventory control function and will partner with operational peers on the implementation of Prisma Health Supply Chain strategic plan initiatives. Leads process development, improvement plans, and collaborates with all relevant stakeholders, while utilizing key change management methodologies to ensure successful adoption.

Essential Functions

  • Assists in the leading of the Prisma Health Supply Chain vision and overall strategy which includes standardized receiving, storage, inventory management/control, point of use/low unit of measure, implant management, and distribution operations in all of Prisma Health.

  • Works with onsite Supply Chain leadership to ensure appropriate delivery systems such as Low Unit of Measure (LUM), Just in Time (JIT), and/or point of use type systems are evaluated and wherever possible implemented in a standardized and consistent manner.

  • Strategic planning and effective policy, procedure, and process implementation to ensure proactive inventory management, utilizing key performance indicators (KPI), cycle counting, and First-In-First-Out (FIFO) inventory methodology.

  • Manages processes utilizing a process maturity model that strives for robust documentation, measurement, and continuous optimization.

  • Monitors inventory levels and cost accounting techniques to ensure appropriate financial practices are implemented and adhered to.

  • Provides leadership and strategic direction to ensure that the system-wide Inventory Control operations are cost effective and meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations.

  • Leads the strategic planning efforts with Supply Chain for the Inventory Control function.

  • Functions as a member of the Prisma Health Supply Chain leadership team, participating in the development of operating and capital budgets, strategic programs, policies, and plans for the effective operation of the Prisma Health system.

  • Partners with Prisma Health executive leadership to pursue opportunities for reduction of expenses in equipment, supplies, and purchased service areas for all aspects of the supply chain.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at Prisma Health or affiliate and will have two or more direct reports.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in related field of study.

  • Experience - Eight (8) years of experience in supply chain. Supply chain experience in a hospital, multiple campus facility preferred. Experience using metrics to drive decisions and working with external vendors.
