DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Information Technology (IT) Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance, operability, and inventory control of the Bureau of Training and Education's electronic training and communications equipment. Your duties will include troubleshooting and maintaining computer hardware and software, inspecting equipment, properly installing software, and performing maintenance work or contacting vendors for repairs. You will also troubleshoot and maintain cadet laptops, ensure damaged laptops are repaired or replaced, and ensure returned laptops are inspected for functionality. You can expect to complete a periodic inventory of computers and equipment and maintain logs of repairs. Additionally, you will serve the liaison between the Bureau of Training and Education, centralized technical staff, and vendors for all matters pertaining to IT and telecommunications. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Free parking!
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $50,836.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience providing IT support services involving hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance; or
- One year of experience providing IT support services involving hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance and completion of a one-year apprenticeship in the IT technical support field; or
- One year of experience as an IT Help Desk Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- An associate degree in an IT field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
