    Job Summary

    We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Director of Facilities & Engineering - Continuous Improvement to lead and scale enterprise-wide initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, integrate automation, and drive continuous improvement across our fresh food manufacturing network.

    This high-impact leadership role will shape our CI strategy and work cross-functionally to embed a culture of operational excellence. Reporting to [TBD], the Director will be a key partner to senior leaders in Operations, responsible for deploying scalable solutions, reducing waste, and advancing automation across all manufacturing sites-while ensuring the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of our facilities and equipment.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead the Enterprise CI Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive Continuous Improvement roadmap aligned with organizational goals; champion a lean, waste-reducing mindset throughout the organization.
    • Advance Automation & Digital Integration: Drive adoption of automation and smart manufacturing technologies in partnership with Operations, Engineering, and IT.
    • Optimize End-to-End Processes: Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to identify inefficiencies and implement sustainable improvements across the supply chain.
    • Strategic Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Plant Directors, Regional Operations Leaders, and Functional Executives to align CI priorities with business objectives.
    • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize resource utilization and minimize downtime.
    • Team Leadership: Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance personnel.
    • KPI Ownership & Business Impact: Define, monitor, and report performance metrics to ensure initiatives deliver measurable business value.
    • Budget Management: Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
    • Build CI Capability: Develop training programs and coach site and functional leaders to embed CI capabilities and ensure long-term adoption.
    • Program & Portfolio Management: Oversee execution of high-priority CI and automation projects across multiple locations, including capital improvements and renovations.
    • Facilities & Maintenance Oversight: Ensure proper repair and maintenance of buildings, structures, and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
    • Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with external service providers.
    • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
    • On-Site Leadership: Spend approximately 50% of time at manufacturing sites to support teams, lead workshops, and ensure successful implementation of initiatives.
    Qualifications & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred)
    • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in Engineering, Operational Excellence, or Process Improvement, preferably in food manufacturing or CPG
    • Deep understanding of automation technologies and a track record of enterprise-level transformation
    • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and align cross-functional teams
    • Experience leading large-scale, multi-site CI programs and implementing advanced manufacturing technologies
    • Exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills
    • Willingness and ability to travel 50%+ to manufacturing locations
