Job Summary

The Navigate Foundation is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team. This role is essential in supporting various facets of our programming in Charlotte and other various markets. This position is based in Charlotte, NC and is responsible for championing the program and building engagement with schools, universities, and community-based organizations (CBOs). This individual will also foster relationships with students in the program. Travel will be required to various schools, universities, and community-based organizations within the area

Job Duties:

Community Engagement

  • Lead all engagement activities in Charlotte, NC
  • Present Navigate program overview to assigned organizations (schools, colleges/universities, and Community Based Organizations)
  • Recruit program participants for the upcoming session(s) through a vetted process
  • Attend career fairs, speak to classes, speak to CBO groups, etc.
  • Lead interviews
  • Outline selection criteria for program participant involvement
  • Work with Compass Group to place program participants at a site/unit, ensuring the right fit
  • Work with schools/universities/Community Based Organizations on a continual basis to explain/educate about the program

Program Creation & Implementation:

  • Manage & deliver program core training modules to program participants
  • Coordinate the booking of relevant guest speakers for panel discussions, soft skills, and culinary bootcamp, where necessary
  • Keep a database of participants with relevant criteria for tracking purposes
  • Maintain safe and healthy learning environments for Navigate participants
  • Maintain relevant Navigate records and documentation as applicable to training and the internship
  • Use social channels, such as REMIND, Google Classroom, Slack to stay connected with participants
  • Maintain progression/status of where program participants are on a regular basis
  • Gather feedback from relevant sources about the program
  • Perform worksite/unit inspections to ensure no issues are present
  • Lead all communication with internship sites
  • Coordinate wraparound services for program participants (could include, but not limited to - scheduling transportation, uniforms, meals, etc.)
  • Collaborate with all Navigate staff (Leadership, Trainer, Community Engagement Director, etc.)
  • Provide coaching and guidance to participants to support academic success, attendance, and program completion
  • Maintain the storage unit: keep organized, keep track of inventory, etc.
  • Regularly check the PO Box
  • Plan and coordinate the annual graduation ceremony
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years experience with training program/delivering content
  • Preferred experience in youth programs and community-based organizations (CBOs)
  • Awareness of key market legalities as a result of schools/CBOs
  • Strong public speaking & facilitation skills
  • Project Management skills including planning, organizing, multi-tasking, prioritizing, delegating, problem-solving
  • Time management
  • Able to engage with program participants including students and parents
  • Ability to connect with students and organizational leaders
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and organize multiple priorities
  • Flexible work schedule - night/weekends may be required
  • Preferred knowledge of instructional design principles (e.g. ADDIE - Analysis, Design, Development, Implement, Evaluate)
  • Ability to manage multiple relationships and provide effective communication and feedback
  • Financial competency and budget management for area responsible for, since non-profit reporting
  • Flexible and possess a willingness to adapt
