Introduction

The Loudoun County Office of Elections and Voter Registration is seeking an Election Officer Coordinator to join our team!

Our office manages all federal, state, and local elections for the voters of Loudoun County, and is dedicated to ensuring that all eligible voters have the right to cast their vote safely, securely, and efficiently. Job Summary

The Election Division of the Office of Elections ensures that the counties 107 election day precincts, 5 early voting sites, and central absentee precinct are staffed by well qualified and trained election officers; ensures that all election day precincts are adequately supplied with needed materials; and manages the record retention and transfer program for the Office of Elections.

The Election Officer Coordinator plays a vital role in the office and division with primary responsibility for all appointed election officers employed by the county, and general oversight of precinct teams and operations. This responsibility includes ensuring that adequate numbers of qualified and trained election officers are available and scheduled to serve for each election in accordance with state code and office policy; providing regular scheduling status updates to precinct teams, office staff, management, and outside stakeholders through various communication methods; and handling after-election tasks such as conducting surveys, submitting election officer payroll, and providing feedback to election officers as needed. Other duties will include providing regular reports to management regarding program status and needs, assisting with budget creation, assisting with ensuring that precincts have needed supplies and materials, and working on special projects as needed.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working with people, possess a strong desire to serve the public, have excellent communication skills, be extremely detail oriented and thorough, work well as part of a team, be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of constituencies verbally and in writing, and be able to function in a fast-paced and sometimes rapidly changing environment.

Hiring salary commensurate with experience.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred); six (6) years of related work experience with computer automated systems and Microsoft Office applications experience.

Prefer experience in a local government environment, volunteer management including recruitment and scheduling, and project management.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Criminal, credit, and DMV background checks are required. All staff in the Office of Elections are required to work overtime around elections and this will include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
