Position Summary:

The IoT organization at Watts Water Technologies seeks a firmware engineer to join the Sensor Platform team working on our Smart and Connected portfolio of products. Products in this portfolio combine environmental sensors with electronic controls and digital connectivity to create innovative solutions for residential and commercial water management applications. As part of the Sensor Platform team, you will help develop embedded systems in an easy-to-use, secure, scalable, and next-generation IoT framework. You may also work on existing embedded systems and IoT platforms to improve performance and reduce Watts' time-to-market for residential and commercial solutions. Your daily interactions will include close collaboration with core IoT team members and a multi-national group of the internal and external software developers and embedded device engineers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Firmware Development:Design, develop, and test firmware for embedded systems.
  • Code Optimization:Optimize code for performance and reliability.
  • Debugging:Identify and resolve firmware issues using debugging tools and techniques.
  • Documentation:Create and maintain technical documentation for firmware designs and implementations.
  • Collaboration:Work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and other team members to integrate firmware with hardware and software components.
  • Continuous Improvement:Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of firmware development processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with embedded C/C++.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with electronics and test equipment.
  • Experience with IOT concepts and frameworks.
  • Experience with version control systems.
  • Awareness of Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in prototyping, PCB design, and CAD modeling.
  • Two years or more of relevant engineering experience.
  • Passionate about learning new technologies and creating innovation solutions.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills in a distributed team setting
