Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Performance Engineer to design, implement and manage load testing scenarios to bring stability and efficiency to our production platforms in their current state and beyond. This role will be responsible for utilizing various load testing tools and using best practices to load test an array of APIs and services in order to give teams performance insight into their processes and help the team make optimization recommendations. This team member will be a part of a performance overhaul that will mature the practice and help set the team and organization up for future success.

The Engineer works closely with multiple teams at Medica, including IT development, quality assurance, business analysis, systems support, information security, database analysis, business partners, and outside vendors. Agile development experience is necessary.

Broad technical knowledge is required, including JMeter or equivalent benchmark/load testing tools, Java development, API development, CICD pipeline process, Java/J2EE applications and application servers, Oracle databases, Unix/Linux systems and scripting, and infrastructure automation. Health care background is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field, plus 7 years of work experience beyond
    degree.


Preferred Qualifications:

Required technical skills:



  • Deep Expertise in Scripting and Testing (JMeter, K6, Taurus, etc..) - minimum 3 years

    • Proven experience in developing load test scripts or related benchmarking tool


  • Experienced with CICD Pipeline Development
  • Experienced with SQL/PLSQL scripting and data mining
  • Experienced with Web Services (SOAP and REST)


Desired technical skills:



  • Experience in the Health Care Industry (2-3 yrs)
  • Experience with Taurus and yaml testing
  • Experience with Loadrunner or other load testing tools
  • Broad understanding of Java middleware technologies and architecture like SOA, queue-based messaging frameworks, and Apache Camel
  • Experience with OS environments like RedHat Linux
  • Development experience using JUnit unit test framework, or similar
  • Experienced in Java/J2EE application security
  • Experience with managing infrastructure in VMWare
  • Experience with scripting technologies like Python, Perl, or Groovy


Nice-to-have technical skills:



  • Basic .NET knowledge
  • Log management tools like ELK and Splunk
  • API/XML Gateway knowledge
  • Knowledge of application clustering / load balancing concepts and technologies
  • Knowledge of J2EE security concepts like SOAP security, JAAS, and LDAP authentication
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration
  • Knowledge of JVM tuning
  • Knowledge of Identity & Access Management


This position is a hub-based role which requires onsite presence. To be eligible for consideration, candidates must reside within a commuting distance to one of the following office locations: Minnetonka, MN or Madison, WI. Onsite frequency is determined by business need as decided by leadership and may be up to 2-3 days a week.

The full salary range for this position is $98,400-$168,600. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
