About the Job

Position Summary:
The Director of Scouting and Analytics will provide direct support to the Head Coach in all areas related to management and success of the basketball program. This non-coaching position focuses on program operations, strategy support, scouting and recruiting coordination, and facilitation of special projects. Serves as direct aid to the Head Coach

Primary Responsibilities:

50%

  • Analyze game and practice film to provide the coaching staff with scouting insights, player development feedback, and strategy suggestions.
  • Research and prepare reports on opponents, basketball trends, and innovative strategies to assist in team preparation and growth.
  • Support recruiting efforts by organizing prospect databases, preparing scouting materials, and assisting with unofficial and official visit logistics (no off-campus recruiting).
  • Liaison to analytical partners/companies that program uses, both on and off the court.

  • Perform daily program management, designated projects, meeting preparation, and team communications.
  • Coordinate internal operations related to travel logistics, academic support, and compliance matters.
  • Coordinate with coaching staff to plan official and unofficial visits with HS and Transfer prospects.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with campus departments, alumni, boosters, and external stakeholders.
  • Plan team events, camps, and clinics as directed by the Head Coach.
  • Ensure alignment with NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations at all times.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in sports management or related field or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years.
  • Experience working with a D1 basketball program
  • Proficient with Hudl Sportscode, Synergy, Fast Model Sports
  • Experience working with Kenpom
  • Valid driver's license

  • Affiliation with the University of Minnesota

Pay and Benefits

Pay: $44,156.00 annual salary

Time Appointment Category: 75%-100% Appointment (If job description above does not specify appointment or expected weekly hours, assume a 100% appointment.)
