Our Denver office has a new opportunity for a Payroll Senior Specialist with payroll experience to join our growth-oriented professional engineering and environmental consulting office. In this role you will report to the Payroll Manager and will work closely alongside a Payroll Lead.

Job Expectations:

Payroll Processing



  • Monitor and manage multi-state and Canadian payroll processes, including importing, proofing, editing, processing, and transmitting all payroll wages, deductions, reimbursements, bonuses, and manual payments consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws
  • Assist 2,000+ employees and contractors with weekly timesheet submissions and payroll related inquiries
  • Analyze and audit payroll data for accuracy and completeness of payment to employees
  • Reconcile and pay third-party benefit vendors i.e., 401K, HSA, FSA
  • Partner with internal cross-functional teams to ensure timely processing of all new hires and terminations


Ad-hoc



  • Process wage garnishments, including setting up withholding on employee records and submitting nonexempt earnings statements
  • Monitor and process Labor Transfers requests
  • Maintain employee master payroll records
  • Prepare periodic reports such as Labor Statistics, Multiple Worksite, OSHA and Mine Site reports for internal customers and external agency reporting requirements.
  • Build strong working knowledge of the internal accounting system and timesheet function


Desired Skills and Experience:



  • FPC/CPP or Associates degree with an accounting focus
  • 3 or more years of payroll processing experience
  • Working knowledge of payroll-related systems (UKG, Ceridian, Workday, CIS+, ADP a plus)
  • Basic understanding of general ledger transactions resulting from payroll transactions
  • Experience with employee relocation and housing expenses desired
  • Intermediate level excel data analysis skills desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service focused, while maintaining compliance with company policies
  • Acute attention to accuracy and confidentiality
  • Excellent time management, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks assigned


Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $25.20 - $34.50/hr.

Location B: $27.70 - $38.00/hr.

Location C: $30.20 - 41.40/hr.
