Title: Acquisition Engineer

Location: Orlando, FL

Clearance: Active Secret clearance

Responsibilities:



  • Lead and support cybersecurity acquisition activities across the DoD Adaptive Acquisition Framework (AAF), including major capability acquisition, software acquisition, and middle tier of acquisition pathways
  • Apply DoD cybersecurity engineering principles to ensure systems are designed, developed, and maintained with robust cyber protections
  • Support the integration of cybersecurity into system architectures and designs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define cybersecurity Key Performance Parameters (KPPs), system survivability requirements, and ensure alignment with the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS)
  • Guide programs through the RMF process to achieve ATO, ensuring compliance with DoDI 8510.01 and NIST SP 800-53 controls
  • Develop statements of work, evaluate contractor proposals, and monitor performance to ensure delivery of secure, mission-ready capabilities
  • Conduct cyber threat assessments and risk analyses to inform acquisition decisions and ensure systems are resilient against advanced persistent threats (APTs)
  • Prepare acquisition documentation including acquisition strategy, cybersecurity strategy, Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), and support milestone decision reviews



Requirements:



  • Bachelors degree plus 15 years of experience is required
  • In-depth knowledge of DoD acquisition policies (DoDI 5000.02, 5000.87) and cybersecurity directives (DoDI 8500.01, 8510.01)
  • Experience with RMF, system security engineering, and cyber resilience planning
  • Familiarity with DoD IT and cyber system environments, including cloud, embedded systems, and C4ISR platforms
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Active Secret clearance
