Job Description:

This posting is for multiple technology positions across various Teams in Southwest's Warrior Hire Program. The mission of the Warrior Hire Program is to recruit and hire transitioning Veterans and guide and support them through the beginning of their corporate career by providing them opportunities for professional growth, camaraderie, and mentorship. If you're planning your transition to a civilian career or recently transitioned, this program is designed to support you in that transition and as you join our Southwest Family. Additional details:

  • Service Management Operationsteam: Supports all the ITIL process areas within the ServiceNow platform which are used by all Southwest Employees. This position will allow the new hire to see how many of the Technology processes work together to help everyone in the company do their job more efficiently. This team prefers Candidates to have experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Tableau, Alteryx, Excel, Power BI, Tableau , and knowledge of ITIL/ITSM and the ServiceNow platform and data analytics while working in an Agile environment.
  • Data & Architecture team: Uses cutting edge cloud technologies to deliver near real time Customer data to numerous Southwest applications in support of daily business functions. This team prefers Candidates to have experience with OpenSearch, GraphQL, Java, Redshift, CICD/Gitlab, AWS infrastructure & services, Python language, and data processing in a Scaled Agile environment.
  • This Dallas-based role is offered as a remote workplace position, which may require travel fortrainings, meetings, conferences, etc. Outside of those required visits, the majority of your working time may be spent in an approved remote location within the Dallas area.
  • U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. required and no current or future work authorization sponsorship available.

    • Verify information and carefully review and check the accuracy of own work using dependency identification processes in technology work

    • Basic knowledge of business analysis, process modeling and redesign
    • Basic knowledge of technical environments
    • Basic knowledge of the software development methodologies
    • Ability to partner, communicate, and negotiate with various Teams and/or external partners
    • Ability to analyze small to medium, or vague Business or technical problems, articulating the problem or root cause, and translating the analysis into viable solution recommendations
    • Ability to work effectively in a strong Customer service/team oriented environment
    • Ability to research, create, and document requirements, processes and technical specifications
    • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple and widely varied work streams/tasks
    • Ability to take on multiple assignments, whether administrative or project related, while maintaining a successful level of completion in all responsible work

  • Education
    • Required: High School Diploma or GED
    • Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent formal training
  • Experience
    • Required: Entry-level experience; developing skills and knowledge in information technology (IT) operations, programming, systems/software development or another IT related field

  • Physical Abilities
    • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
    • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

    • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $ 68,150 per year to $75,700 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
