Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full Time, Swing Shift - Weekends and Holidays

Compensation: $21.93-$21.93/hour

Tessera is seeking a Skilled and professional Janitor Lead with a positive attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Back up Janitorial Staff with janitorial job duties.
  • Coach, mentor and resolve employee concerns in a respectful and mutually beneficial manner.
  • Monitor employees to ensure efficient use of time, performance and understanding of work tasks.
  • Record daily personnel attendance and track employee absences, tardiness, etc.
  • Monitor employee interactions and conduct, documenting misconduct on designated Skookum forms.
  • Assist Supervisor with customer service to meet customer demands.
  • Assist Supervisor with ensuring QC inspections are corrected and followed up on in a timely manner.
  • Assist Supervisor with supply and equipment inventory of J-locker and storage areas.
  • Assist supervisor with managing schedules as needed, including but not limited to call-outs, vacation, or sick leave requests.
  • Assist Supervisor with ensuring orientation and on the job training are completed on all new employees/re-hired employees.
  • Assist Supervisor with evaluating employee performance for probationary and annual reviews.
  • Assist Supervisor with various reports- i.e., schedules, training, attendance, evaluations, various employee documentations, correct time keeping, accident reports.
  • Assist Supervisor with the issue, turn in & securing of all government and Skookum keys/vehicles/phones. Ensure that buildings are secured and safety measures taken when exiting.
  • Participate with rehabilitation staff in the development and monitoring of individual evaluations, assessments and or training programs.

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years' experience in a custodial capacity preferred.
  • Knowledge of work areas at PSNS, including waterfront areas preferred.
  • Experience in training and working with people with disabilities preferred.
  • Experience with scheduling, report documentation preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance.
