Job Description

OVERVIEW

The St. Charles plant is one of two recently acquired TNT pizza crust locations. It is located in a newer facility in the St. Louis suburbs of St. Charles County. We operate in a dynamic business environment with lots of current investment and growth. The St. Charles plant has become a strategic and critical plant to the North American Food segment.

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day overall coordination of logistics activities and performance in his/her assigned area. They lead and manage multiple shifts of 11 employees, including participating in the hiring process, employee on-boarding, performance management, and corrective action. They will partner with multiple departments to execute all logistics activities. They have responsibility for creating and maintaining a workplace culture that engages, and motives associates at all levels.

The Logistics Supervisor works days, Monday - Friday supporting a logistics team that is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week across four shifts. This role will report directly into the Regional Logistics Manger.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide business leadership which demonstrates commitment to department and plant goals daily
  • Establish and sustain effective relationships with all employees to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems
  • Promote positive employee relations through effective conflict management and issue resolution
  • Communicate policy and organization changes
  • Facilitate effective sharing of information across work teams, business areas, and functional areas
  • Function as a technical resource in areas of system operations and product requirements
  • Arrange shipments to included receiving, invoicing and packing list requirements.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of logistics and warehouse
  • Ensure raw ingredients and packaging resources are met
  • Report and communicate in transit issues that affect On Time delivery
  • Seek and partner with reliable suppliers
  • Understand metrics that lead to team profitability including customer service statistics.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Additional duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School dipolma or GED
  • Experience leading a team with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills
  • Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity and change.
  • Must be able to work in hot or cold environments
  • Able and willing to work in an environment with water, flour and other dust like ingredients
  • Follow all GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices) including but not limited to no jewelry, no fake eyelashes or fingernails, no nail polish
  • Ability to be flexible with line movement and cross training capabilities
  • Ability to learn and utilize ERP system, Blue Yonder and SAP

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration or special training, vocational school or equivalent experience in purchasing
  • 5+ years' experience in Logistics or Warehousing preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred not required
  • Strong working knowledge of Outlook, Excel

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $68700.00 - $103200.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
