The Associate Project Manager - Energy Star reports to the Senior Program Manager of Energy Star and Ordinances and is responsible for engaging with clients, managing ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager building profiles, coordinating site visits, and overseeing application submissions to the EPA. This role supports compliance with local ordinances and benchmarking data submission, while contributing to process improvements and maintaining accurate records. It also involves managing project schedules, collaborating with internal teams, and providing superior customer service. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Excel, and capable of working independently in a deadline-driven environment. This is a remote position with the expectation that the ideal candidate will be near a major airport for occasional travel. Responsibilities: Project and Workflow Management: Manage project schedules for multiple projects on different timelines. Monitor project performance and ensure invoicing occurs based on standard milestone structure. Manage annual compliance submission with local and state ordinance requirements. Work with SIG's Licensed Professionals (LP) to create and submit ENERGY STAR applications to the EPA via Portfolio Manager. Plan and schedule ENERGY STAR site visits, coordinating with SIG's Licensed Professionals (LP). Use project management tools, such as ClickUp, to manage tasks and track progress. Client and Data Management: Manage assigned client accounts of up to 75 portfolios and 300 assets. Annually assess client assets to align scopes. Organize and handle client utility data requests, ensuring proper documentation for benchmarking and certification. Generate proposals and work with clients on schedules. Manage Energy Star building profiles for clients throughout the reporting period. Maintain Energy Star Map and spreadsheets tracking benchmarked and certified buildings. Process Improvement and Reporting: Contribute to the development of internal processes and team efficiency. Conduct data assessments, maintain the Utility Data SharePoint Site, and provide updates on portfolio-wide benchmarking data. Additional Responsibilities: Manage client communication and the Energy Star shared mailbox (energystar@sigearth.com). Maintain internal systems and databases, ensuring up-to-date client, project, and financial information. Conduct walkthroughs to confirm indoor air quality and occupant comfort at buildings applying for ENERGY STAR certification as needed. Complete 15Five check-ins, expense reports, and other administrative responsibilities in a timely manner. Professional Development and Team Collaboration. Participate in team meetings and maintain a high level of industry knowledge through professional development. Incorporate team feedback into performance and track personal and professional goals. Stay apprised of project statuses, address issues, and offer best practices for client interactions. Monitor and share industry news, emerging technologies, and other relevant developments. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Architecture, Engineering, Energy Management, Real Estate, Sustainability, or related field. 2-3+ years of professional experience in a related field. Familiarity with Energy Star programs, Energy Star Portfolio Manager, and local ordinances Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and excellent communication skills (email, phone, video calls). Strong client relationship management skills. Expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and technologies (e.g., ClickUp, MS Project). An innovative team player offering versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with acute attention to detail. Ability to analyze data, evaluate outcomes, and recommend actions. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and comfortable with public speaking for training and business development purposes. Ability to work with all levels of management, both internally and externally. Ability to coordinate staff and resources across multiple locations. Commitment to excellence and high standards.
