Overview

The purpose of the outside sales position in Boone, DeKalb & McHenry counties is to provide sales and support for Caterpillar products. The salesperson is responsible for the sale & heavy rental of Caterpillar General Line Construction Products carried by Altorfer. Moreover, develop new business while maintaining current customer accounts while executing the company's policies and procedures. Chosen candidate must currently live within the territory boundary or be willing to relocate.



Basic Duties

    Maintain sales in Boone, DeKalb & McHenry counties while reaching or exceeding the personal sales goals set by the Heavy Division.
  • Create sales opportunities while maintaining current Altorfer customers.
  • Setting regional marketing and account plans to penetrate the surrounding areas.
  • Must be willing to take occasional sales calls after hours.
  • Must be willing to call on customers out in the field.
  • Organize and execute sales files, warranties, product rebates and financial documentation.
  • Utilize all training and systems to perform duties in a successful and efficient manner.
  • Predictable and regular attendance is required.


Qualifications

  • Experience - Five years of relative outside sales experience is required for the position.
  • Communication - Must handle incoming sales calls and face-to-face customer interactions thru product quotations and sales call procedures.
  • Computer Skills - Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have the ability to learn Caterpillar & Company software.
  • Organizational - Must be well organized, proficient in time management and work well with both tractor personal and Altorfer employees
  • Personal Management - Must work with the department to reach the goals set by management and follow all company policies.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate).

Payrate: This is a 100% commission position with anticipated first year earnings of $70,0000 - $110,000 annualized.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

This position will spend a good portion of time traveling to customer jobsites. May work in an office environment, sitting at a desk for a period of time to answer phone calls or use a keyboard to complete documents and communicate through email. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 20lbs. Subject to both inside and outside positions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
