As an experienced content creator and marketing communications expert, the Social Media Director is responsible for integrating data and insights to create compelling content and drive interest in Empower. This role will take a newsroom approach to drive proactive social media content and will also evaluate effectiveness, specifically focusing on social monitoring, rapid response, and digital community engagement. This social storyteller will also develop financial shorts, social media soundbites, and syndication opportunities for Empower research that help foster brand affinity.

What you will do:

  • Deliver content aligned to the comprehensive social media strategy that elevates the brand and executive reputation, aligns with overall company objectives and targets key audience segments

  • Develop strategic social content strategies and creative briefs based on relevant brand, audience and channel insights

  • Engage across all social media platforms, including but not limited to LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, ensuring consistent messaging and branding across channels

  • Create and curate engaging content, including articles, blog posts, videos, infographics, and more, to attract and retain followers and drive traffic to our digital properties

  • Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, HR, Legal, Compliance & business lines to integrate social media initiatives into broader organic and paid campaigns

  • Utilize analytics tools to track and measure the performance of social media campaigns, providing regular reports and insights to key stakeholders

  • Provide regular reports on social media trends, industry news, and competitor activity and identify opportunities for growth and innovation

  • Stay up to date on best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to social media marketing in the financial services industry

  • As an individual contributor, mentor and develop team members, supporting a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement

What you will bring:

  • 8+ years of work experience, preferably in financial services, marketing, or a media-related field, developing and leading social media strategies
  • Adept at operating in a corporate, sales, and/or agency environment
  • 5+ years of experience driving and implementing promotion strategies and programs for large and complex organizations
  • A big idea, creative thinker who is passionate about building brands
  • Proven project management and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including an ability to express and advocate opinions and ideas, and influence others
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field

Base Salary Range

$103,600.00 - $146,350.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
