Overview

The Q-SYS Hardware Department is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineering student for a summer internship at our Costa Mesa, CA site. This internship offers exposure to key facets of the engineering design verification process across various projects. Interns will have the unique opportunity to be involved in the design and test of upcoming new products.

The engineering intern will be responsible for a wide variety of technical tasks. Specific tasks could involve evaluation of hardware platforms, documenting test results, proposing design modification, and writing or modifying software.

The estimated range for this role is $23-$25 per hour.

The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location.



Responsibilities

Testing and validation of hardware

* Prototyping of circuits and rework of test fixtures and assemblies

* Utilize laboratory equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and AP audio analyzers to qualify and troubleshoot circuits on a PCBA.

* Interface with and evaluate components using manufacturer evaluation kits.

* Digital and analog circuitry repair and modification

* Other duties as assigned



Qualifications

* Educational Background: Must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited Electrical or Computer Engineering program.

* Independent Problem Solving: Ability to take direction from a mentor, ask for clarification, and work independently to solve problems.

* Knowledge of Electronic Components: Strong understanding of common electronic components, their schematic symbols, electrical properties, and applications.

* Specification Comprehension: Ability to comprehend specifications from component datasheets and apply them to the desired application.

* Testing and Debugging Skills: Experience in testing and debugging electronic circuits in a laboratory or professional environment, preferred.
