Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Job Functions

  • Accept, approve, and process applications of returning and readmitted students, and assist students with problems or questions concerning their academic records.
  • Support the maintenance of student academic records and process requests related to study abroad, grade changes, licensure, repeats, test scores, and grade forgiveness.
  • Assist with the conferral of undergraduate degrees as approved by the Dean's Office.
  • Consult with administrative, instructional, and other university personnel in regard to students' records, and maintain online and hard copy academic records.
  • Daily contact with students, instructional staff, and university personnel, exchanging information and problem solving.
  • Update and maintain procedures and train other departments on processes. Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of commencement.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
Experience working in a university setting and/or experience working in a high-traffic office as well as previous Banner experience. This position requires a person with strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to coordinate work flow in such a way as to ensure the timely completion of multiple activities; ability to make decisions; knowledge of office practices, techniques and technology; ability to answer inquiries independently and coordinate a variety of resources; the ability to convey information to others in a manner that is clearly understood; and the ability to multi-task and the ability to work with frequent interruptions.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a student service-related office within a university setting,
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work efficiently while ensuring quality and detail in work
  • Experience with multiple technical platforms and systems:

    • Enterprise-level Student Information Systems (Banner Student - Ellucian is preferred)
    • Database management
    • Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, Access, etc. - platforms used for organizing and analyzing information

Independently interprets policy and procedure within delegated authority when responding to client/customer requests and non-standard issues. Recognizes how individual decisions impact other program areas and their goals. Employs de-escalation techniques and conflict management strategies when appropriate. Understands the role of clients in their work environment.

Information/Records Administration: Appropriately evaluates, updates and applies learning to improve overall program(s) specialty or a broad range of student centered program services. Researches and develops new, innovative approaches to address and improve current and future programs, processes and procedures; Utilizes and interprets data from a broad scope to implement innovative approaches and program improvements. Develops comprehensive reports to be utilized in a variety of areas.
Pay will be commensurate with applicant competencies, budget, equity and market considerations.
