Job Posting End Date: Until Filled Shift: 1st Security Clearance: No Clearance SUMMARY This position supports the Rigging Department by teaching and/or coordinating with others to develop and teach training and certification classes. In addition, this position will be responsible for training needs assessment and development of initiatives to sustain training. The Training and Development Specialist will also supervise the Rigging Planning Team as well as be in charge of the Process Improvements and Safety for the entire Rigging Department. The Training and Development Specialist (Rigging) works under minimal supervision referring only exceptional problems for management review or approval. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to climb vertical ladders and scaffolding, and work at heights. Must be physically able to commute to various areas of shipyard. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to dust, welding/burning fumes, and smoke. The noise level is usually moderate to extremely noisy, which may include sirens, horns, chipping, and hammering. ACCOUNTABILITY The Training and Development Specialist is accountable to the Rigging Superintendent. He/she is an exempt employee and is expected at all times to use discretion, independent judgment and creativity to perform all duties of this position. PAY SCALE $78,100 - $107,400 This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
