As the Vice President of Supplier Partnerships at Crescent Electric, you will develop and maintain the most favored distributor status with the Company's key suppliers and targeted new suppliers. This role involves working closely and strategically with both supplier partners and internal business functions. In this role, your focus will be to increase performance (revenue, margin, active customers) through supplier and category strategic plans, local market engagement, supplier program development and negotiation, issue resolution, execution measurement, and governance. You will act as the supplier's liaison into Crescent Electric Supply Company and all business units. Additionally, you will be a key member of Crescent's Leadership Team, focusing on establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships across the entirety of the organization and all its business functions including Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales/Services, IT, Business Intelligence/Analytics, etc.

Primary Duties:

  • Develop the Company's overall Supplier Partner strategy, including relationship building at the highest levels of key suppliers and spearheading partnership discussions and business reviews at industry-related events (NAED, NAW, IESD, NEMRA, etc.).

  • Manage and negotiate all Supplier Partner programs (confidential agreements, rebates, co-op/marketing development programs, terms and conditions, growth incentive programs, supplier published programs, etc.).

  • Champion the development, implementation, and execution of Supplier Partner programs and promotions in collaboration with Executive Leadership, Sales, and Marketing.

  • Monitor and analyze Supplier Partner performance (revenue, margin, rebates, etc.).

  • Develop a formal category review process, strategic category plans, and continuously evaluate product assortment performance.

  • Provide regular insights and observations to internal and external stakeholders on key industry trends, competitive intelligence, and commodity updates.

  • Research market opportunities and size, ascertain alignment with Crescent's strategic plan, and build product category plans to win.

  • Ensure delivery of strong and measurable ROI to the organization and supplier partners for supplier co-op and marketing development funds programs.

  • Develop and maintain quarterly and annual performance reviews with Crescent's Leadership Team and key Supplier Partners.

  • Represent Crescent at industry events, including but not limited to NAED, IESD, NECA.

  • Develop and guide the team of Product/Category Managers and Field Initiative Managers for growth, performance, and profitability. Product/Category Management categories include Lighting, Switchgear, Automation & Control, Cable & Conduit, Enclosures, Clean Energy including Solar, Electric Vehicle charging.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Deep, proven knowledge of the Electrical Distribution industry.

  • Proven ability to build, coach, and develop high-performing teams.

  • Excellent work ethic, integrity, and competitive drive.

  • Highly collaborative with the ability to influence without authority.

  • Strong executive presence and ability to engage, present, negotiate, and resolve conflict at the senior executive level.

  • Ability to build authentic, productive, and positive long-term relationships (internal and external).

  • Serve as a customer advocate to internal business partners and Supplier Partners.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Effective negotiation capabilities.

  • Financial acumen, experience managing and delivering results from revenue and margin levers (rebate programs, growth incentives, co-op programs, market development funds, etc.).

  • Proven record of mutually profitable growth for the organization and Supplier Partners.

  • Solid reputation within the Electrical Distribution supplier community.

  • Track record of leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.

  • Customer-centric, collaborative partner.

  • Experience in medium or large electrical distribution or manufacturing companies.

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to travel 50% and maintain high level of energy and focus.

  • May be required to work more than 40 hours per week.
