DEA's Salem, OR office is seeking a QA/QC Specialist to support transportation related projects. The responsibilities for this position will be diverse and will include:

* Interact and support project client representatives and stakeholders

* Participate in the proposal writing and review process with regional marketing staff

* Assist engineering and office staff with various tasks, including but not limited to: plan reviews, report reviews, writing specifications and developing cost estimates and construction schedules.

* Communicate effectively with Subconsultants, Contractors, Owners or Engineering Staff. Lead or participate in project meetings, as directed.

* Coordinate with internal teams and subconsultants to edit and develop scope and fee, reconciling comments with internal reviewers and clients.

* Assist project managers with monitoring adherence to scope, fee, and change management.

* Maintain effective working relationships with clients and internal teams for steady flow of work and communication, project schedule, and project milestones.

* Document control and project file management.

* Manage, track and review subconsultant schedules, budgets and deliverables

* Manage, track and review ADA design and construction deliverables

* Assure that the Contractor's Quality Compliance program meets required standards and specifications for each project.

* Inspect, monitor, and document construction work to assure that the work performed is in close conformance to the Plans and Specifications, rejecting work that does not meet contract requirements.

* Document quality and quantity of work using General Daily Progress Reports, Pay Notes, Field Inspection Reports, digital photos, etc.

* Act as the representative of the Client in communications with the Contractor, public, and other interested parties.

* Review contractor test reports for completeness, accuracy, and acceptability

* Track and log RFI's and submittals from Clients and Contractors

* Prepare for and assist in Agency and Client audits of project documentation

* Perform design related tasks under the supervision of the Project Manager

* Prepare construction schedules for design projects

* Perform reviews at specific points during project design

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Physically able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Applicant must have a valid driver's license and clear motor vehicle report

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Departments of Transportation, local municipalities and utilities, or local, state and federal regulatory agencies
  • Familiarity with GIS
  • Technical memorandum and report writing skills.
