POSITION OBJECTIVE The mission of the Payroll Specialist is to ensure high-quality and accurate payroll services to applicable Epiroc business units as well as to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction for all services rendered. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensures the payment of employees -weekly, biweekly, or monthly. * Acts as a receptionist to the payroll department by answering all questions relating to employees' payments. * Process payroll for multi-FIEN, 32 state taxation. * Headcount of over 1000. * Maintains payroll records. * Union dues and monthly submissions. * Expat & Local Plus employee payroll. Shadow payroll. * Auto, housing and relocation processing. * On call payroll, shift differential. Work schedules. Rotations. * Support of VOE's and Work Compensation documentation. * Support to Business Controllers -General Ledger. * Work with internal and external partners. * Coordinates efforts between the payroll department and internal departments. * Maintains employees' profiles, including the correct entry of changes in employee's status. * Ensures maximum compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. * Ensures prompt update of all software for accurate payroll processing and administration. * Prepares and applies accounting standard to all financial matters. * Ensures the proper filing of tax and voluntary deduction reports. * Ensures the updating of the organization's payroll procedures. * Complies with weekly, biweekly, monthly and year end reporting. * Ensures the submission of payroll reports to the business controllers. * Completes additional accounting tasks as assigned by the organization. * Setup of 3rd payroll vendors in the system. * Payroll reconciliation of earnings to W2 statements. * Maintaining for the Service Portal. * Maintaining current Payroll SOP's. PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS * Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, and Excel. * Strong ability to maintain confidentiality in the course of work. * Ability to always exercise discretion. * Must possess strong organizational skills. * Strong ability to pay attention to detail and perform tasks accurately. * Ability to work under intense pressure. * Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. * Excellent problem-solving skills * Excellent time management skills * Must be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in payroll. * Proficiency in the use of the timekeeping system will be an added advantage. * Possess outstanding accounting and math skills. * Ability to work with a team as well as with external auditors. * Excellent administration skills. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE * Prefer a payroll certification USA CPP or FPC in Canada CPM. * USA and Canada payroll experience. * Experience in Dayforce, ADP and UKG. * At least 7 years cognate experience in Payroll Administration.
