The Radiology Nurse Navigators role is to increase initial screening volume through directcontact with patients, PCP offices and state and local agencies. Navigate patients through the process of the lung screening process, provide the necessary education to patients and staff regarding the importance of early identification in successful treatment of early cancers, and record and report data. The RNN also follows patients identified as high risk or those found to have findings of concern navigate the healthcare system. The RNN is responsible for community outreach health programs, including but not limited to the Fire Fighter Cancer Prevention program and identification and support of vulnerable populations. The RNN is also the lead RN for the Radiology Department. The focus is high quality care and performance within the radiology department. The RNN holds patient care in the highest regard and works directly with nursing leadership on quality improvement opportunities. Guides patients through the healthcare system from screening through diagnosis and follow up, by assisting with access issues, developing relationships with service providers and tracking interventions and outcomes. Promotes a positive work environment which emphasizes respect to our customers, patients, patients' families, providers, caregivers and other departments.
