The Software group is looking for an FAE who is highly motivated, results-driven, and passionate about technologies to join our growing team to change the way the world interacts with security screening systems.

The Senior Field Application Engineer (FAE) is a high-impact, client-facing technical expert responsible for driving pre-sales consulting, solution architecture, and post-deployment optimization of our products. This role combines deep technical knowledge, strategic consulting, and business acumen to influence customer decisions, optimize deployments, and drive revenue growth.

This hybrid work-from-home and office role is based in our Andover office and involves regular domestic and international travel.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment, integration, and customization of solutions in customer environments.
  • Design and develop procedures for software system troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Optimize system performance, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and provide high-level guidance on architecture and infrastructure.
  • Provide training and documentation to customers and internal teams on best practices and advanced configurations.
  • Oversee post-deployment system health, ensuring continuous performance and identifying opportunities for upgrades and expansion.
  • Ability to present complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Identify upselling and cross-sell opportunities, working closely with sales to drive additional revenue.
  • Work with software and product teams to provide feedback on customer requirements.
  • Develop and deliver advanced training materials for internal sales engineers and customer support teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a technical role supporting software and hardware deployments.
  • US Citizen able to apply for required clearance to access controlled data.
  • Travel required up to 50%
  • Knowledge of Operating Systems, incl Ubuntu.
  • Knowledge of Networking, incl Docker networking.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or equivalent).
  • Experience in DevOps and Agile principles including scrum and CI/CD.
  • Excellent teamworking and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
