The Coordinator of Oncology Support Programs coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of cancer support programs, outreach and education at the Center for Patient and Family Services, Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center in the Greater Washington Area

Education:

* Bachelor's Degree (health-related field preferred

General Job Knowledge:

* Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, procedures, use of equipment and Hospital and departmental policies necessary for job performance.

Essential Functions:

* Demonstrates compassionate understanding of the cancer patient experience.

* Collaborates with hospital departments as needed to establish and conduct program marketing, education, and outreach activities to the community.

* Conducts needs assessments to evaluate and recommend the development of new programs and improve current programs related to medical, psychosocial, healthy lifestyle and survivorship concerns and interests.

* Maintains general knowledge of patient, caregiver, and survivorship issues, cancer care related topics, and healthcare education methods.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations

* Ability to learn new digital platforms for designing documents, reporting and marketing programs.

* Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and effectively as part of a team

* Exercises good judgment

* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

* Able to communicate effectively, verbal and written, with patient care providers, health team members, and patients. Comfortable with public speaking preferred.

* Ability to work flexible hours at JH locations in the NCR

* Requires driving skills
