Position Summary

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Quality Assurance, you are the focal point for ensuring the AUS Quality Management System (QMS) meets the stringent requirements of the AS9100 standard in the aerospace industry. You will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the QMS to ensure product and process quality, compliance with customer requirements, and adherence to industry's best practices. You will be responsible for ensuring full compliance and certification of the companies AS9100 certification renewals and scope expansions for new certification.



  • Strong understanding of AS9100 standards and requirements.
  • Knowledge of quality management principles and practices.
  • Experience in implementing and managing QMS in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, quality management software).



Responsibilities

QMS Implementation and Maintenance: 40%



  • Develop, implement, and maintain the AS9100-compliant QMS, ensuring it aligns with organizational objectives and customer needs.
  • Lead meetings for Monthly Leading indicators and KPIs, and annual Management reviews.


Internal Audit Management: 15%



  • Manage and coordinate internal audits to assess QMS effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. System Safety Engineering


Compliance Assurance: 15%



  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 standards, customer requirements, and company policies.


Training and Guidance: 10%



  • Provide training and guidance to staff on QMS procedures, policies, and best practices. Support a


Quality Planning: 10%



  • Develop and manage quality plans for new products and processes, ensuring they meet AS9100 requirements.


Continuous Improvement: 10%



  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the organization, focusing on quality and efficiency.



Qualifications

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in an IT or Business-related field of study required.



Certifications:



  • AS9100 auditor certification required.
  • AS9100 lead auditor certification preferred.



Experience:

Required:



  • ISO-9001/AS9100 experience
  • AS9100 internal auditing



Preferred:



  • Experience in satellite manufacturing and mission assurance.
  • Experience with configuration management practices.



Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:



  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and unsupervised.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Technical Systems Proficiency:



  • Software fluency in MS Office Products, including proficiency with Microsoft Teams.
  • Jira.
  • PLM/configuration management tool.
  • SharePoint.
  • SAP.



Travel Required:



  • 10-30% Domestic & International.



Eligibility:

U.S. Citizenship required

Clearance:



  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS security clearance required.



Physical Requirements:



  • Onsite: 80%
  • Carrying: able to carry documents and/or electronic equipment up to 20lbs/9kg.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents and/or electronic equipment up to 20lbs/9kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
