Position Summary

Responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations, and supporting payroll processing and reporting. Assist with general ledger function. Generates reports, balances accounts, and supports financial audits.

Responsibilities

Payroll:



  • Monitors time and attendance system; works with managers to correct exceptions.
  • Transfer of payroll data to G/L ERP system.
  • Works with HRIS team to
  • Update employee records as needed.
  • Verify and approve new employee tax withholding, direct deposit, and benefit deduction information.
  • Monitors Fidelity feedback files for employee-directed changes that impact payroll and updates system as necessary.
  • Processes onsite employee vending machine (Micro Mart) transactions.
  • Processes and monitors garnishment orders.
  • Provides intake for employee complaints about incorrect payments; engages internal resources to resolve discrepancies.
  • Reviews and approves tax Forms W-2, 1099, 1095c, and others as required.
  • Performs periodical payroll register and GL reconciliation.


Accounting:



  • Prepares journal entries by compiling and analyzing transactions and entry requests.
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintains accounting controls by complying with department policies and procedures.
  • Performs account reconciliation by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Supports month-end and year-end close process.
  • Supports external financial statement audits and tax compliance engagements.
  • Supports accounting system improvement and implementation
  • Performs other accounting tasks as assigned.


Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or other business-related field OR equivalent experience

Experience:

2+ years' of accounting experience

3+ years' experience as part of Payroll team

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

Accuracy and attention to detail

Working Payroll knowledge with a third-party payroll processor

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in enterprise IT environments

Basic accounting procedures and principles, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

Reporting Skills

Financial statement reporting

Financial Audits

Excellent accounting software user and administration skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Travel Required:

Up to 5% travel required

Eligibility:

U.S. Citizenship required

Physical Requirements:

Carrying: able to carry documents and/or electronic equipment up to 20lbs/9kg.

Lifting: able to lift documents and/or electronic equipment up to 20lbs/9kg.

Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.

Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.

Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.

Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time.

Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.

Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
