Acquisition Analyst -EVMS Shipbuilding

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Acquisition Analyst with a strong background in shipbuilding to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), a solid foundation in project scheduling, and excellent analytical capabilities.

This position can be supported in Washington, DC or San Diego, CA.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Support acquisition planning, budgeting, and execution activities for shipbuilding programs.
  • Analyze cost, schedule, and performance data using EVMS data and principles.
  • Analyze existing shipbuilding schedules using tools such as Microsoft Project or OpenPlan.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to support program management and stakeholder briefings.
  • Conduct detailed analysis to identify trends, risks, and issues, and propose data-driven recommendations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with program goals and timelines.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in shipbuilding acquisition or defense-related programs.
  • Proficient in Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and reporting.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software such as MS Project and OpenPlan.
  • Experience performing schedule analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, charts, and formulas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience supporting DoD or government acquisition programs.
  • Working knowledge of procurement and contracting processes.
