Overview:

Under the direction of the Product team, the Product Tester is responsible for executing in-vehicle product tests, collaborating with engineering teams, and ensuring accurate documentation of test results. This role plays a key part in validating new automotive features and system updates across various vehicle programs. The ideal candidate has strong technical aptitude, experience working in agile environments, and excellent documentation and communication skills.

Essential Functions:



  • Execute in-vehicle testing activities (approx. 75% of role) across multiple product features, including end-to-end flows, assessing real world scenarios, and one-off engineering-directed test cases.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly testing and development meetings (approx. 10% of role), with ability to flex for early mornings when needed due to collaboration time zones
  • Document all test case results, behaviors, and findings in detailed test reports (approx. 15% of role), including collaboration with engineers and product owners for clarification, validation, and follow-up.
  • Manage testing workload efficiently and complete multiple high-priority testing tickets each week.
  • Serve as the primary executor of planned test tickets, estimating and tracking completion time.
  • Report bugs, anomalies, and usability concerns through established tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and feature intent.
  • Provide feedback to improve testing workflows, data capture processes, and reporting standards.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Own test ticket execution, including thorough and timely completion.
  • Communicate findings effectively in meetings and through written reports.
  • Work proactively with engineers and stakeholders to resolve ambiguities or issues.
  • Maintain a high standard of test quality and process consistency.
  • Represent the test team's perspective during sprint reviews and core team meetings.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working in a technical role of some sort (does not need to be engineering) required.

Experience & Skills:



  • Ideally, 1-3 years of hands-on experience with product testing or quality assurance
  • Comfortable riding test vehicles and using diagnostic or development software.
  • Proficient with documentation tools and issue-tracking platforms (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator: able to explain test results and escalate issues clearly.
  • Experience working in a fast environment, with a "get it done" attitude



Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to sit, stand, and stay in vehicles for extended periods.
  • Must be available for occasional early morning meetings
