Shift
The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the Quality Control operations at our inspection cross dock to deliver quality parts on time. This role involves supervising the Quality Control team, performing intensive inspections on high-risk orders, resolving nonconforming parts, monitoring inspection metrics, communicating with other departments, and improving existing inspection procedures and workflows. The Quality Control Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the highest level of quality and efficiency in our operations by instilling a sense of urgency with the team to meet the primary objectives of preventing escapes and keeping up with demand.

What you will do
  • Take charge of Quality Control operations at our inspection cross dock, ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures to deliver quality parts on time
  • Supervise the Quality Control team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure accurate and efficient inspections.
  • Conduct performance reviews with direct reports.
  • Handle time off requests of direct reports and maintain time keeping records.
  • Perform intensive inspections on high-risk orders, ensuring compliance with quality requirements and specifications.
  • Resolve nonconforming parts by coordinating with manufacturing Partners, Logistics, and Customer Success teams for rework or back-shipping.
  • Monitor inspection metrics and Manufacturing Partners' quality performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Improve Manufacturing Partners' quality management by updating defect books, partner guides, and conducting regular touch base meetings with Supply Chain Managers, support & perform supplier audits.
  • Support internal audits.
  • Enhance existing inspection procedures and workflows, including escalation rules, to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Demonstrate an energetic and proactive approach to quality control, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a team-oriented mindset, promoting collaboration and a belief in winning together.
  • Align quality requirements and inspection processes with in-market inspection teams to ensure consistency and alignment.
  • Work closely with the logistics team to ensure the efficiency of the cross docking process.
  • Provide hands-on support with Quality Management Systems by creating and updating procedures to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Utilize experience in Quality Control within CNC/SM/3DP/IM-related industries in a regulated industry (ISO/AS/IATF, etc.) to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.cC
What it takes
  • Proficiency in GD&T
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 (AS9100, ISO 13485, IATF 16949experienmce is a big plus)
  • Familiar with Quality systems and practices and continuous improvement concepts
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
  • Ability to lead a team, address inter-personal issues, motivate and inspire high performance, lead change
  • Good written and oral communication skills: able to communicate complex information to all levels of the organization.
Bonus to have
  • Technical degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience working within a quality system
  • 2+ years of supervision experience
  • Experience with training employees
  • Experience with CNC/IM/Sheet Metal/3DP
  • Experience with problem solving and lean manufacturing

Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in a manufacturing area exposed to machinery and noise; with eye protection and safety shoes required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
