Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer at Sabre Systems, you will employ your talent towards improving the systems used on the United States Navy's most sophisticated Aircraft. The challenge to continually improve the mission capabilities of Navy aircraft requires engagement from the most elite software professionals available. The Maritime Surveillance domain requires Software Engineers to familiarize themselves with a wide variety of mission systems, software programming languages and environments. Join our Team at Patuxent River Naval Air Station located in Lexington Park, MD for this on-site role in support of some of the Navy's most technologically sophisticated aircraft platforms including the P-8A Poseidon.

• Apply knowledge of computer science concepts and techniques, mathematics, and methods of statistical analysis to develop and apply automated solutions to engineering, scientific, or business data acquisition and management problems.
• Uses mathematical, statistical, and scientific logic to identify conceptual or theoretical solutions to problems of software systems design and operations.
• Analyzes and formulates architectural and functional specifications, interfaces, and data structures.
• All candidates should be prepared to participate in processes applicable to full software development lifecycle activities including requirements, design, development, integration and test.

• Self-motivated individual willing to learn and work in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

• BS degree in a Computer Science, Computer Systems Information Management, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics.
• Four (4)+ years of software experience developing in Java and using Maven.
• The applicant must be proficient with Red Hat with knowledge of Git version control software.
• Familiarity with Atlassian suite including Jira and Confluence.
• BitBucket and Bamboo experience is a plus.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher is required and the selected candidate must be able to maintain that clearance.
• Must be a US Citizen
• Candidates will be required to pass a background check for this position.
• This is an on-site role at Patuxent River Naval Air Station located in Lexington Park, MD. Selected candidate must be able to be on-site daily.

Additional experience in the following areas is a plus:

• Javascript, Angular, HTML and CSS
• PostgresSQL
• Apache Camel
• ActiveMQ
• Experience with applications such as Ansible and Packer
• Exposure to container technologies such as Docker and Karaf
