About the Opportunity:

The Production Planner will be responsible for creating and releasing work orders to the shop floor ahead of lead-time in order to meet our customer's requirements. While doing this, they should ensure that we are manufacturing economical lot quantities, not so many that we carry excess inventory, and not too few that we do not meet the minimum charges for outside services. The Planner will follow up daily on parts that are in process to ensure that they are moving in order to meet the required shipping dates. They will work with the Lead and the BUM and escalate any issues. The Planner will work with the Lead and the BUM to create the Build Plan for the month and the 3 month Forecast. The Planner will work closely with Purchasing to get commit dates on required material and hardware,

Location: Eastford CT.

Responsibilities:

• Build a weekly/ monthly production plan that meets both our revenue goals as well as our customers' needs.
• Work closely with the Production Lead to track daily movement of parts.
• Communicate with Outside Services to confirm vendor processing lead times and shipping/arrival dates.
• Provide weekly schedule commitments to most customers.
• Work with other departments to schedule shared resources.
• Release work orders to the shop floor.
• Monitor and maintain all inventory to include raw material, work in process, and finished goods.
• Work closely with Purchasing to bring in material that is required and to follow up on material that is on order but has not arrived yet.

Required Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Good organizational skills
• Proficient at multi-tasking
• Good attention to detail
• Good computer skills
• Understanding of Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work on their own with little oversight

Preferred Qualifications:

• Aerospace and/or manufacturing experience.
• Previous Planning experience
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
• Previous experience with Kaizen.
• Infor Visual or similar ERP experience.
• Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and make informed decisions regarding readiness planning and process improvement.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment requiring you to pivot and adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
• Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
• Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
