As a Benefits & Leave Specialist, you'll play a vital role in supporting our employees through life's important moments. You'll manage and guide team members through benefits, leave, and wellness programs-including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement plans, and more. COMPENSATION:

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 annually, plus a 10% bonus opportunity. Please note that the base salary will vary based on geographic location, market conditions, and the candidate's experience.

LOCATION & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

This position can be based anywhere in the continental US and will include weekly travel in the US for open enrollment in the month of October.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Human Resources: (20%)

  • Workday:
    • Manage and respond to Leave of Absence and Benefits tickets. Serve as a subject matter expert for employees with benefits, PTO and leave questions.
    • Review and resolve all life event and dependent verification requests and documents
  • Lead New Hire Orientation: Manage and facilitate weekly onboarding sessions.
  • Respond to Legal Requests: Respond to audits and record subpoenas, escalating to HR leadership as needed.

Benefits & Leave Administration: (60%)

  • Oversee Benefits Administration: Manage daily benefit transactions and processes.
  • Reconcile Benefits Data: Audit and reconcile benefits eligibility data from Workday to various benefit carriers.
  • Manage Leave & Disability Claims: Partner with third-party administrators to manage all company, federal and state leaves of absence, including disability, parental, FMLA and military leaves. Coordinate FMLA for all workers' comp leaves. Internally manage all personal leave requests and ADA processes.
  • Support Return-to-Work & DOT Compliance: Assist with return-to-work procedures and support the DOT compliance team.
  • Communications: Assist in the development and rollout of benefit communications designed to help employees better understand their benefit package.
  • Collaborate with Payroll: Work with payroll on medical support notices, state and employee correspondence, paid parental leave, benefit premium balances, and other LOA tasks.
  • Support Open Enrollment & Special Projects: Assist with Open Enrollment and Specialist Projects as needed.

Projects: (10%)

  • Performs related work and/or projects as apparent or assigned.

Growth/Innovation: (10%)

  • Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Seek innovative solutions and recommend high-quality, cost-effective programs to meet employees' benefit needs.
  • Evaluate and Improve Processes: Proactively assess internal processes and recommend improvements to enhance the employee experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of Benefits Administration experience with plans such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, etc.
  • 3-5 years of Leave Administration experience including demonstrated experience in FMLA, State leaves, ADA, etc.
  • Ability to provide an exceptional employee experience; to lead with empathy and maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws
  • Ability to work in a fast paced team environment with creativity, problem solving, poise, and a high level of emotional intelligence
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and communication technology.
  • Willingness to travel weekly for open enrollment in October.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Workday
