Posting Summary |
The Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Counseling Professions is one of seven academic Departments, located in the School of Health Professions. The Department offers a full career ladder of graduate and undergraduate degrees, including an M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Track that is accredited by
CACREP. The Department also offers a Ph.D. in Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Counselor Education & Supervision track. Additional information about the School of Health Professions is available at http:// shp.rutgers.edu
This is an open rank, 12-month faculty position with a
one-year appointment. The successful candidate will support the preparation of students who will become educators, researchers, and advanced clinicians in the effective treatment of people with serious mental illnesses via rehabilitation interventions and counseling services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach bachelors, master's and doctoral level courses related to mental health counseling, psychiatric rehabilitation, and rehabilitation counseling. Courses are both on campus and web based.
- Develop curricula materials for on-campus and web-based courses including materials on positive psychology and resilience, supporting older adults living with serious mental illness and multi-dimensional wellness
- Pursue a research agenda in areas such as multi-dimensional wellness and supporting older adults with serious mental illness
- Advise graduate students
- Serve on dissertation committees
- Participate in professional association, community service and university service activities
- Understand and adhere to legacy Rutgers RBHS compliance standards as they appear in legacy UMDNJ's Corporate Compliance Policy and Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
Minimum Education/Specialty, License/Certification:
- Ph.D. in Psychiatric Rehabilitation or related area
- Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Evidence of an international national reputation and subject-matter expertise in psychiatric rehabilitation and related areas
- Active research program in one or more areas of psychiatric rehabilitation.
- At least 10 years of higher education teaching experience
- Experience mentoring doctoral students and serving on dissertation committees
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

Physical Demands and Work Environment |
There are no significant physical demands associated with this position. There are no special vision requirements. The work environment includes classrooms and offices. There is moderate noise. The candidate will work primarily on the Piscataway campus and will have access to a standard computer, phone, and internet access to perform the duties outlined. Some local travel is required to make clinical site visits and attend meetings with stakeholders. |
