Overview

Our Center for Process Excellence team is on a mission to improve business outcomes and employee experiences by driving step-change improvements in critical enterprise processes, and the technology and analytics supporting these.

We are looking for a Principal Data Scientist to join our Commercial Excellence team, and the broader Data Scientist community in our Center for Process Excellence.

As a Principal Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in driving data-informed strategies that optimize sales performance, marketing effectiveness, and customer engagement. Your responsibilities will include analyzing large volumes of commercial data to uncover trends, customer behaviors, and performance drivers; developing predictive models and dashboards identify growth opportunities; and collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate insights into actionable business initiatives. You will also craft experiments to test commercial hypotheses, support pricing and segmentation strategies, and ensure data quality and consistency across systems, ultimately chipping in to smarter decision-making and enhanced commercial outcomes



Responsibilities

    Segment customers and markets using clustering and classification techniques to inform targeting strategies
  • Analyze sales and marketing data to identify trends, opportunities, and performance gaps
  • Develop predictive models to identify growth opportunities, predict customer churn, etc.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, business process analysts, and other SMEs to ensure alignment on business objectives and technical requirements
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency by working closely with data engineering and governance teams
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to align data insights with business goals
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to non-technical team members to drive action

  • Continuously evaluate and improve models and methodologies to adapt to changing business needs



Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data science, with a strong track record of delivering impactful, business-driven solutions

  • Track record of optimally completing projects across people, process, data, and technology in complex, global organizations

  • Deep expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and advanced analytics techniques

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala, and experience with data manipulation tools (e.g., SQL, Spark, Pandas)

  • Strong experience with data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Celonis)

  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional analytics projects from ideation to implementation

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical findings into strategic business insights

  • Experience mentoring junior data scientists and supplying to team capability building

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and data infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure)

  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to influence decision-making at the leadership leve

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
