About the role

Position Description:

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for training and ensuring the availability of qualified plant personnel to effectively and efficiently handle and meet daily operational needs. This includes ensuring the facility's readiness to meet emergencies or unusual circumstances in a safe and productive manner.

This position reports to the facility Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

*Assist the Operations Manager with overseeing all areas of plant operations and carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Reworld's policies and applicable laws.

*Conducting personal and group technical training as required and maintain the training records of the plant personnel. This will include maintaining the ASME license requirements and renewal notifications.

*Oversight and updating of the operator logs, SOP's, P&ID's, training programs and implementing new processes for data collection and tracking utilizing the new technologies available.

*Provide relief for the Shift Supervisors during short-term absence as required. The OS will also assist with vacation coverage as needed. When in relief for Shift Supervisor, the OS will review, prioritize and direct the daily work activities for the shift. Direct the functional activities of the Control Room Operator, Auxiliary Operator, Back Plant Operator, Equipment Operator, and Utility Operator.

*Overseeing and prioritizing requests for removing equipment from service for maintenance, or other purposes and for ensuring the equipment is properly cleared and tagged in accordance with facility procedures.

*Assist the Facility Safety Coordinator with administering the safety program, including presenting training in their absence.

*Participating in daily / monthly meetings with the Shift Supervisors and facility management staff.

*Coordinating day to day activities with the Utility Operators who report to the (OS) including appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employee performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

*During emergency or unusual situations, shall direct or if necessary, personally perform the required operations or corrective actions as well as coordinating the activities of all personnel involved.

*Standing in for the Operations Manager in his/her absence.

*Serve as emergency coordinator in the absence of the Facility/Department Managers.

*Perform other duties as directed by the Operations Manager/Plant Management.

Position Requirements:

*High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required, Bachelor's degree is a plus.

*Broad background in plant operations, including at least 3 years' experience in power or resource recovery plant operations required.

*Hands-on and/or supervisory experience working with high pressure boilers and electric generation equipment required.

*ASME QRO Site Specific Operator Certification (License) required; must be able to become site specific certified within 6 months of hire.

*Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general administrative periodicals, technical procedures and regulations.

*Ability to write reports and correspondence as well as effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and subordinates.

*Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

*Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

*Ability to take appropriate safe action on his/her own initiative to prevent equipment damage or injury to personnel during emergencies or unusual situations.

*Ability to motivate employees and maintain high morale.
