Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

In this critical role, you'll be at the heart of our hardware integration efforts-defining, assembling, testing, and releasing HPC systems that power our most advanced technologies. Requirements, but not limited to:

  • Define Server Architectures: Collaborate with engineering and product teams to specify server contents and technical requirements for HPC systems.
  • Design High-Performance Networks: Identify and specify networking components to support real-time, high-bandwidth performance.
  • Build and Manage BOMs: Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure timely procurement of all components.
  • Lead Hardware Integration: Oversee the physical assembly, cabling, and configuration of HPC racks to meet system specs and quality standards.
  • Drive Functional Testing: Partner with the HPC team to conduct rigorous testing and validation of system performance.
  • Develop Self-Test Protocols: Create automated self-tests and diagnostic procedures to ensure reliability and consistency.
  • Own the Release Process: Manage the release of HPC server solutions into the broader product ecosystem.
  • Ensure Compliance: Work with regulatory teams to ensure all hardware meets industry standards and compliance requirements.

Requirements:

  • Educational background in, but not limited to computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in HPC hardware integration, assembly, and testing.
  • Strong knowledge of networking components and system-level architecture.
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting (highly desirable).
  • Familiarity with procurement workflows and part tracking systems.
  • Excellent documentation, troubleshooting, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HPC server configuration and BOM creation.
  • Knowledge of rack design and interconnect strategies.
  • Background in developing and implementing self-test systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional, collaborative environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years, Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience;

Base Pay Range: $130,400.00 - $221,700.00 Primary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas-KLA KLA's total rewards package for employees may also include participation in performance incentive programs and eligibility for additional benefits including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life, and other voluntary benefits, 401(K) including company matching, employee stock purchase program (ESPP), student debt assistance, tuition reimbursement program, development and career growth opportunities and programs, financial planning benefits, wellness benefits including an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off and paid company holidays, and family care and bonding leave.
