SOME Inc. exists to help the homeless and poor of Washington, DC. With over 30 programs throughout the District of Columbia, we provide a wide spectrum of services to the most vulnerable individuals and families of our city. Compensation:

We offer our employees a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The hourly range for this position is $17.50 to $17.95 and is commensurate with experience.

SOME Inc. is currently seeking a full-time House Manager for Exodus House in West Virginia.

Position Description: The House Manager oversees the residential facility and clients during overnight hours. The House Manager also provides support and assistance to clients, as needed.

Required: HS Degree/GED; 1-3 yrs experience in social services; experience providing services in addictions or mental health treatment

Required License/Certification: CPR/First Aid; AED; Food Handler's License; Crisis Intervention (Training); Driver's License

Schedule: Monday - Friday (Overnights) - 12:00 am - 8:00 am (40 hours/week)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:



  • Knowledge of substance abuse and mental health issues
  • Ability to set professional boundaries
  • Conflict resolution skills with an understanding of de-escalation techniques
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, & Outlook
  • Relationship-building skills
  • Organized with an attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate with diverse audiences
  • Ability to maintain calm in crisis situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrates professionalism and maintains confidentiality while working with sensitive issues


Expected Contributions: Program Management

Oversee facility and residents during assigned shifts to ensure safety and security. Conduct nightly and morning room inspections, assist residents with daily living activities, handle administrative tasks (e.g., copying, scanning, filing), and maintain accurate documentation and communication logs.
