The role
The Asia Pacific (APAC) Business Development Team at Palladium is a strategic engine for growth, driving high-value opportunities across the region in alignment with Palladium's global vision. As the Manager, Business Development you will hold a critical role within the team, spearheading the development of strategic proposals that shape the future of donor-funded programming in the region. This position benefits from an advanced expertise in proposal design, a nuanced understanding of key clients, and the regional political-economic landscape. By leveraging deep sector knowledge and strategic insight, the Manager will play a central role in expanding Palladium's impact across the region.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead the charge in identifying and shaping early-stage opportunities, assessing market dynamics, and positioning Palladium for success in a competitive landscape
  • Providing leadership to keep bids on track, ensure robust strategy and ensure the right team is engaged to ensure we can win
  • Design and drive compelling tender strategies while building meaningful relationships with clients, partners, and consultants, laying the groundwork for long-term collaboration and shared impact
  • Guide the preparation of EOIs and proposals, ensuring our submissions reflect innovation, quality, and strategic alignment with client needs
  • Participate in dynamic collaboration workshops that shape proposal direction and deepen our understanding of client priorities
  • Own the proposal development process from end to end, crafting compelling narratives, integrating diverse inputs, and articulating Palladium's unique value proposition with precision and passion
  • Support and guide bid managers in coordinating all critical inputs from legal and compliance to recruitment, costing, and design ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality proposals
  • Maintain strong relationships with Palladium's geographic teams to ensure our proposals are grounded in real-world insights, best practices, and the lived experience of our global portfolio
  • Assisting to oversee the capture efforts and ensuring the bid is being delivered on time, on budget and to a high quality
  • Adopting and being a role model to the bid team on BD processes and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in BD quality
  • Ensuring the review process takes place in line with bid timeline deadlines and reviewers feedback is successfully collated
About you
You will have extensive experience with either a managing contractor or donor client in international development. If you have worked in policy analysis, research, or proposal development, this would be beneficial.
Additional key requirements include:
  • Strong sense of accountability in contributing to business growth
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with clients from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds, and to work in politically sensitive environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; additional regional languages are an advantage
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • High attention to detail and focus on producing quality work
  • The ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills to solve problems and develop practical solutions
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work well with others
