Executive Position Summary
The Director of Gas Operations provides leadership and executive oversight for all Operational initiatives driving forward key projects and business strategies in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This role is responsible in ensuring safe, reliable and resilient operation of the gas Transmission and Distribution system infrastructures through overseeing the direct operational implementation of all compliance programs and operational and maintenance best practices. This role is also responsible for the promotion of customer growth, reliability, and resiliency through technical operational support and construction of new engineering projects and initiatives. The Director serves as technical lead on system response and emergency operations necessary to respond and recover from incidents affecting system operation and customer service safely and in collaboration with company, industry and governmental stakeholders. The Director prepares the business for long-term sustainability through collaboration with industry and governmental stakeholders focusing on operational excellence and new products and technologies., The Director is responsible for leading a team of multiple operational disciplines that include professional engineers, salaried and wage scale operation's professionals and supporting staff in accordance with the Texas Engineering Practice Act, various National Standards groups, the US Department of Transportation Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, the Railroad Commission of Texas, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the Texas Department of Transportation, Bexar County, City of San Antonio, and other governing agencies. Tasks and Responsibilities
Minimum Skills Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Expertise in the operations, maintenance, design and construction of natural gas transmission and distribution systems.
Knowledge of design and operation standards and associated federal, state, and local regulations associated with the design, operations and maintenance of gas transmission and distribution systems.
Knowledge of labor agreements, accident prevention manuals, personnel procedures, budgeting and general company policies and procedures.
Demonstrated management, administrative, and leadership skills.
Must have a valid Texas Driver's license.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or another applicable engineering discipline (i.e., Civil, Electrical, Engr Science) or equivalent experience leading gas operations or construction teams. Required Certifications Working Environment
Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business related events. Physical Demands
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
