About the Role

The Global Compound Logistics and Operations (GCLO) team plays a vital role in supporting drug discovery and development by managing the inventory, dispersal, and logistics of biological and chemical entities. We are seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Technician to join our GCLO Pharmacy Lab. This role is directly responsible for the receipt, inventory management, and dispersal of both small and large molecule R&D compounds for order fulfillment and inventory maintenance.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and be comfortable performing repetitive tasks with precision. Familiarity with laboratory automation and troubleshooting skills is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate physical and digital inventory records of R&D samples
  • Ensure proper storage conditions for inventory, including -80C, -20C, 4C, and ambient environments
  • Aliquot biological materials under sterile, aseptic conditions
  • Weigh and solvate powdered compounds with precision
  • Use proprietary shipping software (ShipIt) to manage and track sample shipments
  • Receive, stock, and organize laboratory supplies
  • Safely dispose of laboratory waste in compliance with safety regulations



Work Conditions

  • Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours within an 8-hour day)
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field OR 3+ years of experience in biologics sample processing or a related field
  • Strong multitasking abilities and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid understanding of standard laboratory techniques and practices
  • Experience working with biological materials
  • Completion of multiple biology-related courses



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating and troubleshooting automated liquid handling systems
  • Comfortable working for extended periods in a biological safety cabinet (bio-hood)
  • Familiarity with chemical inventory information systems and databases
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
