Are you passionate about leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and automation to enhance IT operations and data management? UCLA Health IT is seeking a highly skilled AIOps and DataOps Engineer to join our Solutions Architecture and Engineering (SAE) Team, ensuring that our on-premises and cloud infrastructure stays ahead of rapid customer growth.

About the Role:

As an AIOps and DataOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing IT operations and data workflows. You will:


  • Automate IT operations to enhance system reliability, performance, efficiency, and security.
  • Optimize data pipelines, ensuring data quality and availability for business intelligence and analytics.
  • Integrate AI/ML solutions into observability practices to proactively detect and resolve system issues.
  • Collaborate across teams, including IT, data science, and business units, to drive operational excellence.
  • Design and implement scalable architectures that align with organizational needs while maintaining strong security protocols.
  • Develop and maintain AIOps platforms for predictive analytics and proactive system optimization.
  • Automate incident detection, diagnosis, and resolution using AI-driven tools.
  • Establish data governance frameworks, ensuring high data quality and compliance.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting systems for real-time performance tracking.
  • Design process automation solutions using Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, and other tools.
  • Work with distributed environments across Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Ensure seamless cloud integration within AWS and Azure, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Foster collaboration across IT, business operations, and data teams to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

Seeking top candidates with the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields.
  • 2+ years of experience in AI/ML, AIOps, and DataOps concepts.
  • Development experience in Python, Java, C++, JSON, Node.js (JavaScript), Ruby, and relevant scripting languages.
  • Certifications in AI/ML technologies or cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect a plus).
  • Experience with monitoring tools like ServiceNow, WIZ, Prometheus, or Splunk (for AIOps).
  • Working knowledge of DevOps principles and practices.
  • Expertise in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for deployment efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative mindset.

This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in advancing UCLA Health's Data and AI platforms, contributing to groundbreaking healthcare and research initiatives. As part of our high-performance IT team, you'll be at the forefront of innovation in automation, cloud infrastructure, and AI-driven solutions.

This flexible hybrid role allows for a blend of remote and on-site work, requiring presence on-site at least 15-20% of the time, and as needed based on operational requirements. Please note, travel to the "home office" location is not reimbursed. Each employee will complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager to outline expectations and ensure mutual understanding. These arrangements are periodically reviewed and may be adjusted or terminated as necessary.

Salary offers are based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The full salary range for this position is $ 83,800 -179,400annually. The University anticipates offering a salary between the minimum and midpoint of this range.
