The Operational Efficiency Engineer facilitates and supports initiatives that improve business and operating outcomes. Partnering with senior leadership, drives cross-functional teams to solve complex problems quickly. Actively supports PE Workstream leaders to achieve defined financial goals (data resources, initiative planning, facilitation across teams). Supports initiative leaders with outcome tracking and monitoring.

Position: Operational Efficiency Engineer
Shift: 40 hours. Hybrid

Essential Accountabilities:



  • Lead project management and value analysis efforts for transformation initiatives, including clinical workflows, operational processes, and strategic programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including clinical leaders, finance, operations, and IT-to define project goals, scope, timelines, and success metrics.
  • Develop business cases and value frameworks to support initiative prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Evaluate proposed changes for their potential impact on cost, efficiency, patient outcomes, and employee experience.
  • Track initiative performance and outcomes, providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with T2035 Workstream leaders to plan initiatives, allocate resources, and coordinate execution across teams.
  • Identify and mitigate risks that may impede initiative success, using structured problem-solving and escalation pathways.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment and accountability.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and performance metrics.
  • Support change management efforts to ensure the successful implementation of initiatives.
  • Design and deliver educational content to build organizational capabilities in transformation methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, change management).
  • Maintain documentation and reporting for all initiatives within T2035 tracking software.


Additional Knowledge, Skills, Abilities



  • Influence & communication: Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to build trust and foster collaboration across diverse teams with varying priorities and perspectives.
  • Change Leadership: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and resistance; able to champion change and guide teams through transitions.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the big picture while managing details, ensuring initiatives align with broader organizational goals.
  • Technical: Experience with Tableau or Power BI preferred. Experience working with Epic or Vizient data preferred. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft products including Excel, PowerPoint and Word required.


Primary Customers or Key Working Relationships:

Transformation Management Office, Chief Transformation Officer, T2035 Workstream Leaders, Finance, Quality and Safety Process Improvement and Project Management Team, Directors, Managers, IT Project Management Office

Experience:



  • 5-8 years work-related experience
  • Recent process improvement or project management experience with demonstrated results.
  • Knowledge of concepts, techniques, and methodologies of implementing and coordinating improvement initiatives in a variety of healthcare settings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret clinical, operational, and financial data.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and data visualization platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with interdisciplinary teams. Ability to lead, direct, and instruct teams, utilizing tools to address opportunities for improvement.
  • Progressive experience and proven skills in change management preferred.
  • Financial analysis skills preferred.


Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Health Care, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
  • Master's Degree in Health Care, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.


Licensures/Certifications:
Project Management, Agile or Process Improvement certifications preferred.
