This role works closely with internal teams, clients, and vendors to understand business needs, translate requirements into functional specifications, and leads the implementation and optimization of system solutions-particularly within the context of MSP and VMS programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, clients, and prospects to understand business processes and identify system solutions that meet operational and strategic goals.
- Present MSP/VMS implementation plans during the sales process, articulating value, timelines, and technical approaches to prospective clients. Review and contribute technical responses to RFPs and/or prospect Q&A.
- Demonstrate strong client-facing skills: manage relationships, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and foster long-term partnerships.
- Navigate and de-escalate challenges with demanding clients or vendors, using effective communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
MSP/VMS Implementation & Subject Matter Expertise
- Lead and manage the implementation of Vendor Management Systems (VMS) within Managed Service Provider (MSP) programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and client requirements.
- Operate as a subject matter expert (SME) for VMS-related issue resolution, liaise with VMS partners, advise on platform-specific nuances, best practices, and practical solutions to MSP program challenges.
- Ensure third-party vendors meet all compliance and audit (e.g., SOC) requirements and support internal data privacy and security policies.
Business Analysis & Functional Design
- Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications, defining system behavior, data flows, and integration points.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend system enhancements, including the use of automation and AI technologies.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, compliance standards (e.g., GDPR), and emerging technologies to inform system strategy.
System Configuration & Integration
- Design and configure systems in alignment with functional specifications and industry best practices.
- Ensure all system integrations are tested, documented, monitored, and maintained for operational continuity.
- Work closely with internal teams and third-party technical resources to ensure accurate development and deployment of system solutions.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Drive and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT): develop test scripts, oversee test execution, document results, and ensure readiness for production.
- Conduct unit, integration, and UAT testing to validate system functionality and compliance with business requirements.
Technical Operations & Support
- Monitor and maintain system integrations and performance metrics, identifying issues and ensuring optimal operation.
- Provide post-implementation support, including issue resolution, change management, and system optimization.
- Adhere to company and customer data privacy, security policies, and compliance standards.
Required:

- In-depth knowledge of VMS and MSP concepts, with hands-on experience in system deployment and configuration.
- Proven ability to translate complex business needs into effective system solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with troubleshooting system and integration issues.
- Experience with system administration, performance metrics, and reporting tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Client-facing experience with a focus on relationship management and successful service delivery.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Proficiency in relevant tools and platforms.
